3RD ANNUAL RESTORATIVE JUSTICE CONFERENCE WILL BE ON MONDAY MARCH 7TH, 2016!
Have you ever wondered how the criminal justice system can positively impact offenders, victims, AND communities simultaneously?
Three reasons to join us on on Monday March 7th, for the 3rd Annual UW-Platteville Restorative Justice Conference:
1.You will hear from Renee Napier and Eric Smallridge on The Power of Forgiveness,
2.You will learn how this cost effective alternative to our traditionally retributive model of justice insures community involvement while empowering victims and still holding offenders accountable for their actions, and
3.You will acquire strategies for adopting restorative Justice practices in community settings, households, and correctional institutions.
Students are encouraged to engage with the professors, special speakers, and other students to discuss these issues that impact our communities. This event concludes with a powerful experience; you will hear firsthand from a survivor and an ex-offender. They will share their experiences with our justice system and discuss the impact crime had on their lives.
