The Winter Olympics are great to watch with friends, but if you add in waffles, the Olympics become amazing. On February 22nd, 6th floor, 2 East, and 5 West teamed up and enjoyed some gluten free and regular waffles while watching the Winter Olympics. Fun was had by all the residents and RAs that attended. We watched figure skating, ate waffles, drank some orange juice, and had some time to talk and joke. What event would you want to participate in during the Winter Olympics? Student loans are a known reality for many college students. Have you thought of how to pay them back after college? When do you need to start paying back on your student loans? What happens if I can’t pay back my student loans? These are questions that many college students have and the answers are available if you know where to look. In the hallway on 5 West is a bulletin board on the wall that has ten tips for paying back student loans. The tips include strategies for paying back loans faster, repayment options, and many more. If you are looking for some more help after ready the bulletin board, you can visit the Financial Aid office. The Financial Aid office is located on the second floor of Brigham Hall. The month of February is when Black History Month is observed. In the hallway of 5 West a new bulletin board is up. The board is titled They Had a Dream. The board is about 14 African American inventors that you may not know about. The board is filled with both African American men and women who excelled in their given field. Valentine’s Day is a great day to spend time with and show appreciation to loved ones. In honor of the holiday, I made some camel door decs in Valentine’s Day colors. I really enjoy the community that we have here in Southwest Hall and I appreciate all the awesone residents of 5 West. I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day. The Winter Olympics started this week, so in honor of the sporting event 1st place medal door decs went up. Every four years althletes gather to compete to see who is the best in the world. The ending of January was the end of National Hot Tea Month. Even though National Hot Tea Month has ended, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a delicious cup of tea. A travel mug door dec is up for each resident on the wing. In honor of National Hot Tea Month, there is a tea bag attached to each door dec. Make sure to take a moment to relax and sip some tea.
